Flood Cleanup in Depew

Cleanup Continues In Depew After Rain, Floods

DEPEW, N.Y. - Just as quickly as Cayuga Creek rose, the water receded -- but not before it left behind a trail of damage.

People who live on Bryan Avenue spent much of Friday morning trying to clean up what the floodwaters left behind: thick coatings of mud, large pieces of trees and other debris, and soppy messes, inside and out.

Jonathan Hoesel's garage was partially underwater Thursday evening.  Friday morning he was left with damaged motorcycles and lawn mowers.

His neighbor, Beth Pudlewski, had a lot of damage inside her home.  There was one to two inches of mud in her laundry room.  Carpets were wet, and parts of her floor were starting to buckle because of water damage.

Neither have basements, only crawl spaces.  They say they have to go down and assess any damage below their homes next.
