ECWA crews repaired leaks in Clarence

CLARENCE, N.Y. - About 50 homes have been affected by multiple water leaks to a line in Clarence, an Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) spokesperson said Sunday.

The leaks are focused on Stahley Road in Clarence and were first reported Sunday morning. The ECWA tweeted they would be fixed in about 2-3 hours.

At about 5:30 p.m., Sean Dwyer, Account Executive at Zepplin Communications representing the ECWA, said the leaks proved to be more complicated to repair than earlier thought, so the repair time was delayed another 2 to 3 hours.

He said the leak is only affecting homes in Clarence.

He recommends that those who completely lost water pressure in the area allow their water to run for three or four minutes to clear any unwanted particles that can build up when the water is not running -- a good practice for whenever water pressure is lost for an extended period of time.
