Buffalo Police Investigate Deadly Double Shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Police in Buffalo say two people are dead after a shooting on the city's east side Friday morning.

Officers told a 2 On Your Side photographer at the scene that the two victims were found dead in a car at Jefferson and Sycamore after the shooting around 2:30 AM.

They blocked off the intersection during the investigation.

Police have identified the victims as Shamel Parker, 37 and Tyneisha Pettiford, 29.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting.

Both victims are from Buffalo and died at the scene. The two victims were boyfriend and girlfriend.

"Detectives believe at this point that the incident was not random," said Mike DeGeorge, a police spokesperson.

Buffalo police won't say if either of the victims were the target. Investigators also won't say if there were multiple shooters or not. And it's unclear if there were any witnesses.

Police believe the shots came from another vehicle.
