Phillips-Lytle Law Firm Moves Into One Canalside

BUFFALO, N.Y.- The old Donovan State Office Building is now officially known as One Canalside.

Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy was in town today to help cut the ribbon on the new home to the Phillips-Lytle law firm.

Phillips Lytle now occupies 85,000 square feet of office space on the top four floors.

The bottom will be a Courtyard by Marriott Hotel that will open next year.

Phillips-Lytle which moved just down Main Street from the former HSBC Tower is first tenant in the first private developments at Canalside.

"Like every upstate city, we've gone through tough times, we have. Rochester is reinventing itself, Buffalo is reinventing itself, Syracuse, we have to all go through that but the most beautiful thing is seeing teamwork, " said Duffy.

Duffy says he will be travelling to Toronto with a group of local leaders next week to talk with Canadian business leaders about opportunities in Buffalo.

As they try to continue the momentum development continues around Canalside.

Last week crews began to fill the re-created East Canal with water and a space next to One Canalside will soon be decked out in the holiday spirit and play host to a Canalside Christmas tree.
