CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Crews were busy early Sunday morning repairing what the Erie County Water Authority described as an "emergency water main break." It was one of two they responded to.
The authority tweeted that the "emergency break" happened around midnight at the corner of Cleveland Drive and Virginia Road.
There was also a second water main break on Martin Road in Lackawanna. A portion of Martin Road was closed for about five hours while crews worked on the break. It was back open by 8 a.m. Sunday.
A voice recording on the authority's emergency line said customers may have discolored water, low water pressure, or in some cases, no water at all. The message went on to say that service was expected to be restored in a few hours.
ECWA has not said what may have caused the breaks.
