ANGOLA, N.Y. -- A place that's made things brighter for young Western New Yorkers in needs for decades is celebrating a new addition.
Cradle Beach on Lakeshore Road in Angola cut the ribbon Wednesday on the New Era Performing Arts Center.
It's a project that's been a long time coming for the organization that gives kids with special needs or economic disadvantages a place to learn and play.
"It allows them to really be able to expand their sense of creativity and their self-expression, and that's one of the greatest treasures of Cradle Beach is children are able to come here and be accepted and be themselves," said Ann-Marie Orlowski, Cradle Beach Chief Executive Officer.
Donations from New Era and the Koch family made the center possible. It's dedicated in the memory of former Cradle beach director Jack Anthony.
