Truck Involved In Hit & Run On Grand Island Turned In

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. -- The black pick-up truck involved in a serious hit and run crash has been turned into police. That's according to attorney Barry Covert, who is representing the vehicle's owner.

The crash happened on East River Road around 8:06 p.m. Tuesday, June 13. A newer four-door Dodge pick-up truck hit a female pedestrian, Dana Papaj, 53, of Grand Island, and then left the scene without stopping, state police say.

Covert said his client, who is not being named because he has not yet been charged, turned in the truck registered to him on Wednesday, June 14th.

According to a Buffalo News report, that man is a Corrections Officer.

New York State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
