Kevin O'Connell honored by NY NATAS

NEW YORK CITY - Storm Team 2 Chief Weather Anchor Kevin O'Connell has done it all: radio, news, weather, even hosting a game show, "Go" on NBC in the 1980's. He's now being honored by the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NY NATAS) for a career that's spanned decades.

Thursday, at a ceremony in New York City, O'Connell was inducted into the chapter's Silver Circle, which honors those who have devoted a quarter century or more to the television industry.

In addition to delivering accurate forecasts for Storm Team 2 since 1993, Kevin has worked at WIVB and WBEN Radio in Buffalo, and at KNBC and KCBS in Los Angeles. Kevin earned his B.S. degree from Buffalo State College in 1972 where he is still very active in the college's academic, community and fundraising efforts.

NY NATAS is a membership organization that serves media professionals in the television industry. It hosts the statewide Emmy awards during a ceremony held each year in New York City in the spring.
