Some cleanup continues in parts of Western New York following Tuesday's summer storms.
Dark clouds and heavy rain in the Village of Gowanda flooded streets and downed some trees and power lines.
The same story in Colden, Boston and Hamburg, where crews had to use chain saws to cut up trees that fell across roadways.
Strong winds knocked out power to thousands of people, but most service has been restored. No local injuries were reported.
Unfortunately that was not the case in Central New York where the storms were more severe.
In Smithfield, just outside of Syracuse, a tornado destroyed three homes, killing four people. The tornado touched down around 7 p.m. damaging several other buildings in the area.
The Madison County Sheriff says crews will be back out today to look for more possible victims.
