Tolbert running for Buffalo School Board

BUFFALO, NY - Bernie Tolbert joins the list of candidates hoping for a seat on the Buffalo School Board.

In May, voters in the city will elect three people to fill at-large seats. Tolbert, who ran for Mayor of Buffalo, joins Sergio Rodriguez, another former Mayoral Candidate in the Buffalo School Board race

Tolbert is a graduate of Buffalo Public Schools. "What's at stake is the future of our children. And so everything that I do and everything the Board does should be geared toward making sure that we are doing the very best to put our children in a position that they can be successful," he said.

He formally announced his candidacy on-line and listed his three-point program for progress.

Besides Tolbert and Rodriguez, the other candidates are Adrian Harris, Dr. Wendy Mistretta, incumbent Board President Barbara Seals Nevergold

and Board Member John Licata.

Tolbert would not definitively say that he is a supporter of the current Superintendent Dr. Pamela Brown.
