BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Philharmonic performed as part of the popular MLK program at Kleinhans music hall Sunday night.
Other groups performed as well, including the BPO chorus and dancers from City Honors High School, and Mayor Byron Brown delivered the keynote speech honoring King's legacy.
The civil rights leader also brought a crowd to Saint Columba Brigid church on Buffalo's East Side Sunday morning. Bishop Richard Malone led the service that reflected on the life and works of Dr. King.
And a reminder for Monday, all government offices will be closed for the holiday along with banks, schools and post offices. Metro bus and rail service is on a Sunday schedule. Garbage is on a normal schedule in Buffalo.
