Buffalo schools shelter in place after Lackawanna fire

BUFFALO, N.Y.-- On advisement from Buffalo Fire Department Commissioner Garnell Whitfield and Chief Operations Officer Kevin Eberle, Buffalo schools in the vicinity of Wednesday's Bethlehem Steel Plant fire were told to keep students inside Thursday.

The schools that were advised to shelter in place include Lorraine Elementary#72, Discovery School #67, and Bilingual Academy #33, as a precautionary measure.

The Buffalo Fire Department says it will continue to monitor and assess the situation, allowing for wind shifts expected.
