BUFFALO, NY — Buffalo Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that left one man dead, according to BPD spokesman Michael DeGeorge.
The incident happened shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday morning near Broadway Avenue and Gatchell Street
Police say a sport-utility-vehicle was traveling eastbound on Broadway when it struck a man who was attempting to cross the street. Investigators say the vehicle also struck an NFTA bus shelter shortly after hitting the victim.
The victim, about 30-years-old, was taken by ambulance to the Erie County Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
His identity has not been revealed.
An unoccupied SUV was recovered a short time later and is in police custody.
