BATAVIA, NY-- The boil water advisory is still in effect for some residents of Batavia and Oakfield in Genesee County.
Genesee County Health Department say water wells near Batavia-Oakfield Townline Road east of Rt 63, and Lewiston Road south of Batavia-Oakfield Townline Road may be contaminated with manure.
Residents are being told to continue to boil (rolling boil for one minute) their tap water, or use bottled water for drinking and cooking. If your well water quality changes as noticed by color and/or smell, immediately stop using it for all household uses other than flushing toilets.
If you have any questions, you can contact the Genesee County Health Department at 344-2580 extension 5525 for more information. More information on the boil water advisory can be found here: http://www.readygenesee.com/BoilWaterAdvisory.pdf.
