Body found in Niagara River

BUFFALO, NY-- The Buffalo Police Underwater Recovery team pulled the body of a male out of the Niagara River Monday afternoon.

Police and Fire responded to the foot of Porter Avenue just after 2pm.   The U.S. Coast Guard also responded. 

The body was recovered near the Black Rock Channel.

An autopsy will be performed at the Erie County Medical Center to determine the cause of death.  No identity has been released at this time.
