Arrests made at fixed sobriety checkpoint

ELMA, N.Y. -- Troopers say two were charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and four with drug offenses at a fixed sobriety checkpoint in the Town of Elma.

More than 600 vehicles passed through the checkpoint on Transit Road, officials say.

Those charged include Daren Heeb, 49, of West Seneca. Heeb was charged with Aggravated DWI after his breath test revealed his Blood Alcohol Content to be at 0.22 percent.

Kelly Igoe, 29, of Depew was also charged with DWI. She refused a breath test and will appear in the Town of Elma Court at a later time to answer to her charges. In addition, she will have to appear at a DMV Refusal Hearing for failing to submit to a test to determine her BAC.

Anthony Peters, 21, of Orchard Park was charged for posession of concentrated cannabis (hashish).

Three other people were charged with Unlawful violation of Marijuana. An individual was also charged with a felony DWI by the Town of West Seneca Police at the checkpoint.
