Friends Remember 16 Year Old Shooting Victim

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A young life was lost in a double shooting Thursday night.

Wednesday, Buffalo Police released the name of the victim who died: 16-year-old: Kristian Piazza.

Piazza was shot and killed around 8 p.m. Thursday at Leroy Avenue and Hill Street.

Piazza worked at the Amherst Street Wegmans.  His friends and coworkers say he knew how to bring a smile to anyone's face.

"He was like really hyped up for everything," said Piazza's friend and coworker Kick Laboy.  "He was a happy kid, and if he saw you down, he would come over to you and cheer you up and make you happy.  He enlightened your mood."

The other 16-year-old was released from the hospital, Buffalo Police say.

They ask anyone with information to call or text their confidential tipline at 716-847-2255.
