Mumps cases at two SUNY campuses

2 SUNY Campuses Dealing With Mumps Cases

Two SUNY campuses outside of Western New York are dealing with confirmed cases of the mumps.
State Health Department officials say SUNY Oswego and SUNY Plattsburgh are the universities involved.
The cases in Oswego have been linked to an outbreak on Long Island. That outbreak has been ongoing since June.
Mumps is a highly contagious viral disease and symptoms usually appear 16 to 18 days after infection, but can last as long as 25 days after a person becomes infected.
