Police Chase Leads to Felony DWI Charge

ELLICOTT, N.Y. - State Troopers say a man who led police on a vehicle pursuit in Chautauqua County faces several charges including Felony DWI.

Police say they attempted to pull over Raymond Jordan, 61, in the town of Poland on Saturday. Jordan reportedly accelerated and attempted to evade police causing Troopers to report a pursuit.

With assistance from the Ellicott Police Department and the Chautauqua County Sheriff, the vehicle was stopped in the town of Ellicott.

Troopers say Jordan was intoxicated and he was placed under arrest. The suspect was then found to have a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years along with multiple alcohol-related offenses.

Jordan is charged with Felony DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. He is also facing charges of Reckless Driving, Fleeing from a Police Officer, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Jordan has been remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
