Driver Has Medical Emergency and Crashes

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - A Niagara Falls man was killed after police say he suffered a medical emergency and crashed.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. Friday near Niagara Street and John B. Daly Boulevard.

The 57-year-old man from Burlington, Ontario was northbound and exiting the Robert Moses Parkway when he had a medical emergency, accelerated, and then hit an embankment.  The car went airborne and hit a tree before coming to rest in a field north of Niagara Street.

The driver was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.  The female passenger was also taken to the hospital.  She was treated for minor injuries and released.
