BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Being the Governor of New York state comes with a pretty decent salary: $179,000 a year.
But there's a number of state employees who are making a lot more money. A new report says about 1,500 people pull in more cash than Governor Andrew Cuomo.
The top earner is a SUNY Downstate Medical professor and surgery chairman who made $1.06 million.
And it's a little ironic, but the Empire Center for New York State Policy also found the state Financial Control Board had the highest average pay at just over $99,000 per year.
