Cuomo heading to White House (for dinner)

ALBANY - Tell the White House to save a seat: Gov. Andrew Cuomo is coming for dinner.

Cuomo will travel Tuesday to the White House to attend an official state dinner on the South Lawn honoring Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, the governor's office announced earlier in the day.

The grandson of immigrants from Italy, Cuomo often speaks fondly of his heritage and is known to occasionally speak Italian.

He rarely leaves New York or travels to Washington.

The meal is being prepared by celebrity chef Mario Batali and White House chefs, according to the dinner program.
Gwen Stefani will perform following the dinner.

The main course? A beef braciole pinwheel with horseradish gremolata and broccoli rabe.
