AMHERST, NY-- The deputy mayor of the Village of Williamsville is facing a DWI charge.
Chris Duquin was arrested for DWI early Saturday morning.
Amherst Police released information Monday morning with details of the arrest.
They say officers responded to a resident's complaint of a hit and run accident on North Ellicott Street in Williamsville around 2am Saturday. Officers found the damaged vehicle and discovered a trail of fluid from the scene. Officers followed the trail to a garage at a home on North Ellicott Street where they found another car in the garage had been hit.
Offivers say they spoke to the resident, who was identified as Christopher J. Duquin, and they say he was responsible for the accident.
Duquin was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the scene of a property damage accident, refusal to take a breath test and moving from a lane unsafely.
Duquin was issued a summons and is expected to appear in court on October 21.
2 On Your Side contacted Amherst Police the day of the arrest for more information, and they originally declined to release any information, citing they normally do not issue press releases for DWI arrests.
The mayor of Williamsville, Brian J. Kulpa, was not aware of the arrest when contacted by Channel 2 earlier today. He said he would look into it and get back to us.
Duquin is also owner of the Stevens Driving School.
