EAST AMHERST, NY-- The Erie County SPCA has seized more than 100 small animals from an East Amherst home.
SPCA investigators removed snakes, birds, fish, spiders, frogs, lizards, reptiles, insects and small mammals from the home of Mary Hughes on September 9.
Hughes is facing two counts of animal cruelty. She is scheduled to appear in court on October 13.
Many of the animals have been turned over to the SPCA. They will be available for adoption at various locations starting September 15. Adoption fees will range from from $5 to $350 will be reduced by 10% from standard adoption fees for these species.
