BUFFALO, NY-- A jury has found two Buffalo men guilty for kidnapping and torturing a victim they thought was an informant.
Wesley Woods, 30, and Stephen Dawson, 29, were found guilty of kidnapping and robbery Thursday.
Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita stated in a press release that Woods, Dawson and another assailant punched, kicked and robbed a 24-year-old man for an apparent drug debt. They then abducted the victim, took him into Woods' basement and beat him, poured gasoline on him and drilled his teeth with a power drill. They accused the victim of being a police informant.
Dawson recorded the incident on his cell phone and posted it on his Facebook page. Family members reported the video to police who rescued the victim and arrested the defendants.
Both Woods and Dawson could face 15 years to life when they are sentenced in October.
