CASTILE, NY- A camp counselor is facing child endangerment charges after he allegedly returned to the camp intoxicated and went into the wrong cabin to sleep.
New York State Police say Nicholas D. Maroney, 20, of Perry, was working at the YMCA Genesee/Camp Hough on West Lake Road when co-workers saw him exiting a bunk bed with a seven-year-old female in it on July 29.
At this time, police believe there is no report of sexual contact.
Maroney was arraigned in court and is currently in the Wyoming County Jail awaiting bail. He is scheduled to return to court on August 7.
