CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Heritage Centers' Maryvale School cut the ribbon Wednesday on the "Russell Salvatore Learning Center".
Heritage serves children who have developmental disabilities.
The new learning center is a 3,000 square-foot addition with a state-of-the-art kitchen, a life skills center and more.
Salvatore, whom the building is named after, was one of many donors that contributed to renovating the building over the last five years.
"I think this is one of the finest things I've done because of the young kids," Salvatore said. "To see the smile on their face when they came back to school at the beginning of the semester...it meant a lot to me. I feel so proud of this one."
The learning center also includes therapy rooms and two new nurses' stations to help care for students in need.
