To all the families who lost your loved ones on flight 3407, my heart goes out to you. I am so sincerely sorry for your loss. I'm sure you are devastated. And I am sure it will take you a very long time to heal. But I would like you to know that all of us here in Buffalo and vicinity pray for you in this terrible time.
On a personal note, a man from my work was on that plane. And although I did not hardly know him, it saddens me like nothing I have ever experienced. It's tragic. I am an agent at Bradford Regional Airport. I worked for Colgan Air for 4 years...Joe was a very nice guy, always talking...Numerous times I flew stand by, would see him in Pittsburgh and Dulles....If he knew anything about a delay, maintenance, he'd fill me in. My husband and I went to the going away party for Colgan at Judy's house in Jamestown last September....that is the last time I saw Joe, sampled his cooking, very good....he is sadly missed but will always be remembered fondly. Back on March 31, 1986, my high school class lost 2 of its own in a plane crash in Mexico City. it was an anguishing experience that took years to let go of. My classmates and I thought we were all good and rolling along when Pan Am 103 went down with another of our classmates. I have experienced some major horrors in my life that were on an international scale. The friends of the surviving families need to pull together and rally around them. Love them and support them. Make them dinner, they will forget to eat. Love them and give them time to heal and accept. It will come. I will never forget the 3 classmates that I lost and I know that is a comfort to their families, that their memories are still alive and they are then, never forgotten.

While traveling thru Newark from Milan last month, Rebecca was my pilot and Matilda was one of the attendants. I got on that plane and remarked on the "new plane smell" and equated it to new hotel and new car smell that a business traveler rarely encounters. As I walked in and saw a female pilot - I gave her two thumbs up. Matilda Quintero fell in love with the necklace I was wearing and wanted to buy it for her daughter. We are deeply saddened to hear the tragedy that happened in our former hometown of Clarence and WNY. We moved from the area in August 2008 to Tampa, but our hearts are always in Buffalo. I have been asking folks to pray for families all day...I began reading an article from The Buffalo News near the end of the work day. Little did I know that the father of one of my son's best friends since first grade died in this horrific crash. We are at a loss of what to do being so far away, but praying for the family that we have grown so close to. Since the "heat" of the crash would not leave any body's recoverable, this would be a very good idea, for everyone effected by this tragedy, to have a place to heal & pray. I travel the thruway each night during the week. Last night as I go on the thruway at exit 50 eastbound I noticed a fireball to my left. It was about 10:10 pm. I did not pay too much attention to it at the time except that I watched it for a few minutes as I drove eastbound. Of course as I listened to the radio I heard the breaking news. I was on my way home Thursday night about 11pm heading on the 90E towards Lackawanna as I saw about 5 State Troopers just flying down the 90W and was thinking to myself "I wonder what's going?" and as I got home and turned the news on I saw just thought.

When living in Buffalo I lived in Cheektowaga and my house was so close to the airport that I could see the peoples faces when the planes were landing. It was always my fear living there that something like this would happen.

Our Sincerest condolences to all the families affected by this terrible tragedy. Having lost our son Christopher in September in the Metrolink train accident in California, we know first hand how devastating this can be to the families, how it seems so unreal and how it alters your life forever.
Loosing a loved one in such an unexpected accident is one of the most difficult things to deal with. One has no control over the situation and must rely so much on others. Our hearts go out to all the families and friends of those lost.
Our best advice to dealing with this situation is to let anyone who wants to help you in whatever capacity, to let them help. It is what they need to do and it is amazing how a simple gesture like a hug can be such great comfort.
So many reached out to us in our sorrow as will all of you and you will be amazed the comfort it can provide. If not for all the outpouring of love and prayers from so many, it would be impossible to get through, but there are many out there who care, whether they know you personally or not.

This is one of the most horrifying experiences that have happened to Western, New York. When I first saw this, I called my mother and asked if my uncle was the Pilot. And thankfully he wasnt, but its always scary thinking something like this could happen. I give my prayers to the families and those of the Clarence area.

Also my prayers and thanks go out to the Firefighters,emts,medics, and state police as my brother is a state trooper and I have my emt degree....we have to pray for the emergency responders because in class your not exposed to this amount of feeling helpless and sadness that they carry til they go to debriefing.
