Lancaster, NY-- A Lancaster teenager and his parents are still seeking answers about the vote which is keeping him out of the Citizens Hose Fire Department.

Eighteen-year-old Tim Grucella, who is developmentally disabled, took part in an Explorer Scout program and felt he could take part in some way with the department.

Now, they just request that fire company officials provide Tim with a personal explanation of why he was turned down for membership.

"He respects them and he'll listen to whatever they say," say Mark and Ellen Grucella, Tim's Parents. "And that would give him closure and give him something he can see and hear and hold on to."

Tim grucella: "I actually am disappointed and I was kind of hoping that they would have accepted me in, but uh..I guess they had said no," says Tim.

The Grucellas say they are not seeking any other further action in Tim's case.

2 On Your Side was not able to reach the fire chief to comment.
