AMHERST, N.Y.- The NFTA is looking for public input into how they can improve the transit connection between Amherst and Buffalo.
The first of two fact finding workshops was held Tuesday night to hear the needs and concerns of people who use public transportation.
The Amherst to Buffalo corridor currently has metro's highest transit ridership in the region, and demand is expected to grow.
"People are excited that we are looking at different options and transit is committed to connect people so that no one is isolated in the community," said NFTA executive director Kim Minkel.
Some of the options NFTA is considering include new bus service, and extending the Metro Rail into Amherst.
