BUFFALO, N.Y.- A local boy scout troop is raising money to show support for the NFTA bus driver who helped a young woman in distress.
Pack 185 in North Tonawanda decided to start a GoFundMe account for Darnell Barton, who has been thrust into the national spotlight for his actions.
The account already it has almost $800 in it.
"As far as doing a good thing, helping people out, try to preach that and they thought he was a hero, what he did was above and beyond what he had to," said Dan Klaes of Pack 185.
Barton says he will be speaking to the scouts at a future meeting.
