NIAGARA FALLS, NY - In a gesture of gratitude to the Niagara Frontier community, operators of the Maid of the Mist tour boats are offering free rides to all passengers on Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26.

In a statement released Sunday, James V. Glynn, Chairman and CEO of the Maid of the Mist Corporation, said:

This is an opportunity for us to thank everyone for the strong, local, grassroots effort that encouraged, supported and motivated us to keep the Maids running for years to come. We are also grateful for the tremendous assistance from Governor Cuomo, New York State Parks, New York Power Authority, elected officials and other entities, that has been vital to the construction of our new drydock and maintenance facility, which will soon be completed.

The season was originally scheduled to end on both sides of the border on Thursday, October 24. On Friday, the hours of operation out of Niagara Falls State Park will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
