BUFFALO, NY - Every year Buffalo Business First ranks the top local school districts.

This year, for the first time, rankings are out showing how those schools stack up against other schools across Upstate New York.

Out of 429 districts, no Western New York school is in the top five, but three are in the top 10.

In sixth place is Williamsville, East Aurora ranks eighth and Clarence is tenth.

The top spot goes to Pittsford, near Rochester.

Falling into the final four spots are the districts in the largest upstate cities.

Rochester and Syracuse are lowest, followed by Buffalo and Albany.

The rankings are based on state test score over the last four years.
