BUFFALO, NY - A recent audit by the Erie County Comptrollers office found that finding a job with the county government is not easy to do... but that could be changing soon.
Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw wants to work with County Executive Mark Poloncarz to create a website... a one stop shopping experience for anyone who wants to apply for a county job or look up a civil service exam. Mychajliw says this would make it easier for employees to get the job on "what they know - not who they know"... and streamline the hiring process for all the departments within Erie County.
The recent audit found that a lot of the job postings for erie county government are posted on a bulletin board at the Rath building... or on a number of different websites.
If all goes as planned... the hopes are to have the centralized site up and running by the end of this year.
