BUFFALO, N.Y. - Events across Western New York today will pay tribute to the 2,977 victims of the 2001 terror attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

  • Team RWB Buffalo is holding a "Moving Tribute" from dawn until dusk carrying two flags around Ring Road in Delaware Park, stopping for moments of silence at the times of the crashes and tower collapses.
  • Row upon row of flags stand outside the American Red Cross on Delaware Avenue, honoring each of the victims.
  • Erie Community College's North Campus will hold a memorial and flag-raising ceremony at 9:20 a.m.
  • There will be a wreath laying and reading of the names at Amherst's Memorial Hill Grove, located along the Ellicott Creek Trailway.
  • The VA in Batavia is holding a remembrance ceremony and outreach event from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
