AMHERST, NY - UB lost its first two games of the season to Ohio State and Baylor. Most people believed that would happen but after a strong showing against the Buckeyes the Bears trampled the Bulls 70-to-13.
Now UB is focused on this week's opponent, Stony Brook. Its the Bulls home opener. Wide receiver Alex Neutz was named UB's male athlete of the week after a great performance against the Bears. Neutz had a career-best 197 yards receiving on only six catches and added a touchdown against #23 Baylor on Saturday. The senior wide receiver had three catches of 49 yards or more, including a career-best 62-yarder.
Afer a big loss like the one to Baylor can dent a team's confidence. Neutz says that's not the case with the Bulls. He told Two on Your Side's Stu Boyar "Personally its high, I had a good game but personally's not going to get me very far. Its about the team. The good thing is I think our team confidence is high. We're just excited to get back, have a chance to play in front of our home fans, get that home town confidence and just get a big win."
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 at UB Stadium.
