BUFFALO, N.Y. - The man found guilty in the stabbing of two security guards at the Boulevard Mall learned his fate Tuesday morning.
State Supreme Court Judge Christopher Burns sentenced Dardrequez Haynes to five years in prison.
Last month, Burns found Haynes guilty of two counts of assault in addition to criminal possession of a weapon and possession of burglary tools. The 24-year-old Syracuse man could've received as much as 14 years behind bars.
The two officers were attacked last November while trying to break up a group of alleged shoplifters.
