Sabres Lose Prospects Tourney Final

The Detroit Red Wings beat the Sabres prospects 4-2 in the championship game of the NHL prospects tournament in Traverse City, Michigan on Monday night.

Anthony Mantha scored twice on the power play for Detroit to give the Wings a 2-0 lead.  The Sabres tried to battle back in the game with goals from Frederick Roy and Peter Trainor but ultimately fell short.

The Sabres failed to defend their title in this event.

The Sabres are set to open training camp on Wednesday.
