GRAND ISLAND, NY - A two-car collision on Baseline Road at Alvin Road sent one man to the hospital Sunday night.
The crash happened at about 9:50 p.m. when the vehicles hit head on. Both were driven by men, one from Buffalo and the other from Grand Island, according to an Erie County Sheriff's deputy we spoke with at the scene.
The Grand Island man was taken to Erie County Medical Center with injuries the deputy described as non-life-threatening. Although alcohol is not believed to have been a factor the deputy expects some traffic citations will be issued, although the investigation is continuing.
Both drivers were wearing safety belts and both vehicles' airbags deployed, probably saving lives, the deputy said.
