BUFFALO, NY-- The search for a missing Buffalo teenager has come to a tragic end.
The family of 13-year-old Lanasha Rollerson, also known as "Nay-Nay," tell 2 On Your Side that her body was found by police just a few hours after police had asked the public for help in finding her.
The teen was last seen Sunday on Poplar Street in Buffalo.
Buffalo Police confirmed the body found was Rollerson. They say an autopsy conducted Wednesday ruled her death a homicide.
Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda says they aren't releasing too many details, but did say officers located Rollerson's body behind a garage. They believed she may have been killed either late Saturday or early Sunday morning. She was reported missing by her family at 1pm Sunday.
Tamika Maclin posted on her Facebook page Tuesday, before her daughter was found, thanking those that helped look for her daughter, but also expressed her frustration with Buffalo Police. Here is her post:
"I would like to thank everyone who has helped me so far in the search for my daughter. I am still searching for for[sic] my child. BPD is worthless and I still continue to look. Special thanks to the folks who has hit the streets with me and my husband. Please continue to post the picture and if anyone know the word of prayer please continue to pray."
