AMHERST, N.Y.-UB lost its season opener to Ohio State 40-to-20 but the Bulls showed why many believe they will contend for a MAC title.

Senior linebacker Khalil Mack was all over the field considered by most the best player on the field. Mack was named the MAC East defensive player of the week.

Ohio State did a great job on UB workhorse Branden Oliver who rushed 26 times for 73 tough yards. Look for the Bulls to try to create more space for Oliver. They also take confidence gained from playing the Buckeyes into their week two game against the Bears.

The Bulls face another tough test this weekend when they travel to Baylor for a 3:30 game against the Bears. Baylor is ranked # 23 in the country. The Bears are riding a five game winning streak with their last loss coming against Oklahoma.

The Bears have also won nine straight non conference games.
