BUFFALO, N.Y. -- There are traffic concerns about a sinkhole in Buffalo.
Drivers who travel Franklin Street regularly say traffic has to slow to avoid a sinkhole on Franklin Street. They say the sinkhole been here for at least three weeks.
It's been patched, but that has also collapsed.
Nearby residents and people who do business in the area believe the problem may be a larger than it appears.
Concerned citizen David Mcpherson says. "Because with all the rain that we've had when you look underneath it actually goes farther underneath so even right where we're standing.... we don't know if that could collapse here to.
Buffalo's Commissioner of the Department of Public Works tells 2 On Your Side they are not sure yet what's causing the problem.
The city is installing a plate to cover the hole Thursday, and work crews will take a look at the hole this weekend, when there is less traffic, to find the source of the problem.
