BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A replica of a historic boat will be sailing into Canalside this weekend.
The Lois McClure is a re-creation of 1862 canal schooners that will visit over 40 locations this summer sharing the history of the ship.
"We can find all the shipwrecks, we have the technology, we can study them, we can preserve them, and we can learn from them as touchstones to a time period that's gone by. And they're three-dimensional reminders that really put us in touch with past societies in a very intimate and profound way," said Art Cohn with the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.
Admission for this weekend's event is free.
