WARSAW, NY - A Gainesville man is under arrest accused of inappropriate conduct involving three young girls.
Robert DeCarr, 23, is charged with counts of both 1st and 2nd degree Sexual Abuse as well as a charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
New York State Police say the charges involve separate incidents that allegedly took place with a 9-year-old in 2006 and with an 11-year-old and a 13-year-old in May of this year.
When State Police arrived to arrest DeCarr at his home, they say they found a cage on his porch containing three sick, emaciated and flea infested puppies and a fourth puppy that had died. That discovery also led to the arrest of Thomas Hyde, 20, also of Gainesville. Both DeCarr and Hyde were charged with cruelty to animals and neglect of an animal.
The surviving puppies were taken to the Perry Vet Clinic for treatment, where their chances of survival are not known at this time.
DeCarr is currently behind bars until a return appearance in Gainesville Town Court. Hyde was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in Town Court at a later date.
