Both festivals run from August 1st to August 4th and feature activities throughout the day. The Italian Festival opens at 11 a.m. everyday through Sunday. The Corn festival opens at 5 p.m. today, noon Friday and at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Italian Heritage festival is a celebration of all things Italian, featuring live music, Sicilian puppet shows and of course the food.
"If you leave hungry than it's your fault because there's something for everybody here," says festival heritage coordinator Peter LoJacono.
Food is also an attraction at the Eden Corn Festival. Aside from corn, of which there is plenty, the festival also has daily barbecue offerings. The festival also features auto shows, baseball games and a beauty pageant.
This is the first time the two festivals have been held during the same weekend. The Eden Corn festival is always held during the first weekend of August while the Italian Heritage festival was traditionally held during the during the second week of July until it changed for the first time this year.
