BUFFLAO, NY-- A local group of kids got together to do something great for their community.
Shelbie, Abbie, Morgan and Madison got the idea to start a "Slushie Stand" to raise money for Niagara Hospice.
The stand was in honor of their grandmother, who was staying at Niagara Hospice before she passed away last week.
They sold the slushies for 50 cents each, but never imagined they would be so successful.
"These two wanted to do a slushie stand and I told them that we should do it for Hospice, and originally our goal was $15 and we've got 700 more dollars than that. We can't believe we've gotten this much money," said Abbie Morehouse.
The girls met with the CEO of Niagara Hospice to present him with their donation. He assured them that their contribution will help even more people who need the services Hospice provides.
