BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Food Bank of Western New York got a big donation.
It was a $20,000 check from Citizens Bank. Food Bank administrators say the food they provide, especially to kids in the summer, is a necessity in more ways than one.
"Kids stay alive. This is a neighborhood where kids die. It's sad to say, but it's true. The food that comes in here draws the kids in. We're able to sit down and talk to the kids...spend time with them. The kids are now in college it helps them get better grades...it keeps them in school, keeps them alive and puts families together," said Bob Kuebler, founder of Youth With a Purpose.
The donation is part of the bank's "Citizens Helping Citizens Fight Food Hunger" initiative, which help support food banks across the state.
