Buffalo, NY -  When 2 On Your Side asked our viewers to tells us about people who should be recognized, we received an email from a young woman whose story has inspired us before.

La'Quisha Pompey told us about one of her nurses who helped her after she was the victim of gun violence as a teenager.  She wrote,  "I believe Judith Kazmierczak should be recognized for all the great things she has done for me and others. I was shot by a stray bullet in 2006 and I was instantly paralyzed. After I left the hospital, I ended up getting a pressure sore and a staff infection. Judy was the nurse who was picked to help me with my wound care. I was stubborn and didn't want to get surgery and she encouraged me to get it. She is no longer my nurse, but she is a great friend. When my family and I need help she is there. I believe she is a Blessing..."

2 On Your Side's Theresa DeLuca has more on how Judith and La'Quisha are good neighbors by helping gunshot victims deal with the loss of independence and encouraging them to work hard to find a new normal.
