TONAWANDA, NY - A Town of Tonawanda patrol car collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Military Avenue and Sheridan Drive Saturday just after 4 p.m. The patrol vehicle was responding to a call of a crime in progress, according to a statement from the police department, and its lights and sirens were activated.
The police officer had minor scrapes and was treated by paramedics at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle had to be extricated due to damage to her vehicle. She was transported to Erie County Medical Center but her injuries appeared to be minor, police say.
The officer returned to duty.
No names have been released yet and the investigation continues.
