CORFU, N.Y. -- Thousands of runners are participating in one of the most unique races around this weekend.
The Color Me Rad 5K takes place Saturday morning at Darien Lake Theme Park.
This is the first year the race has come to Western New York.
Runners start off wearing white but then get doused with color throughout the run.
Organizers say they'll use almost 5,000 lbs of colored cornstarch to brighten up the race.
Buffalo is the 47th stop on the nationwide tour this year.
The first runners start the 3.1 mile course at 9 a.m. with other groups to follow.
Part of the proceeds benefit the Special Olympics of New York.
